Sat July 19 1pm at the Skokie Library has been finalized as the date and place
for the match of CICL vs Warren Juniors. These are talented up-and-coming
youngsters of 1400-2200 strength who are thirsting for challenges (and blood?)
from those rated somewhat above them.
Here's the latest on the match CICL vs Warren Juniors:
1) GM Dmitry Gurevich has agreed to review the games with the
participants right after they are played. You may never get
a chance again to get tips from a GM, at least not for free!
2) The ratings of the grade school kids interested in participating are:
2037
1621
1615
1517
1442
1421
1374
Clearly, the present CICL interest of almost all 2000+ players is
not suitable. WE NEED SOME 1500-1800 VOLUNTEERS!
But you 2000+ guys, don't despair, Andi Rosen will be contacting
the middle and high school bunch next.
3) To answer a few questions which have come up:
a) The games most likely will not be rated.
b) The time control is expected to be in the G/90 - G/120 range.
Other details are as previously released below, including the names
of interested players I have so far.

More details will emerge over time. The Junior side will get back to me
with a list of interested names, and then we will try to match people up
such that the Juniors are playing people 100-200 points above themselves,
as much as that may be possible.
We could use more people rated 1500-1900, maybe more 2100+.
