To be played Saturday May 9 starting at 9:00am sharp at Fermilab in Batavia.
Playoffs Saturday Individual Tournament
Format: 3 round Swiss tournament, with multiple sections as needed
Time Control: G/60 + 5 second delay
Time & Date: Arrive by 8:45am sharp on Saturday May 9. Rounds expected to be at 9:00am, 11:00am and 2:00pm.
Location: Fermilab in Batavia (see below for directions)
Entry Fee: none
Prizes: $30 for 1st place and $20 for 2nd place of each section. (But only for 1st place if the section has less than 7 players). All prizes are only in gift certificates or trophy (your choice). Only members of the CICL are eligible for prizes.
Registration: Please pre-register by sending email to the co-Playoff TDs at PlayoffTD@chicagochessleague.org with Chess Playoff in the subject line. Include the name of your team in the email.
Eligibility: This tourney is open to all CICL members, and also open to all potential, future CICL members. You must be 16 years of age or older to play in this tournament. USCF membership is not required.
Ratings: Games are rated by the CICL for CICL members. Games add to CICL members' Centurion game count. Game are not rated by the USCF.
Chess equipment: Please bring a chess set and chess clock.
Directions to Fermilab:
Location: Fermilab, Batavia, IL. Enter campus at intersection of Kirk Rd. and Pine St., then drive east to Wilson Hall (the tall high rise building) and park. PO Saturday events are in the first floor atrium area.
