Round 2 results: Hedgehogs won vs. STCCC; Baker won vs. Tyros; NWU won vs UOP; DGCC won vs Kings

Round 3 results: Baker won vs. Hedgehogs; STCCC won vs NWU; DGCC won vs Tyros; Kings won vs UOP

Final standings:

• Baker took 1^st place, with 2.5 out of 3 match points. League Champions!

• STCCC, DGCC and Hedgehogs tied for 2^nd thru 4^th places, with 2 out of 3 match points

• NWU 1.5 match points

• Motorola Kings 1.0 match point

• Lucent Tyros and UOP, with 0.5 match points

Individual tournament results:

• There were 8 entries in the 1^st section; 10 entries in 2^nd section

• 1^st section was won by Gustavo Garzon 3-0. And 2^nd place was a tie between Rajan Nallathambi 2-1 and Andrew Wang 2-1

• 2^nd section was won by Fred Furtner 3-0. And 2^nd place was a tie between Doug Campbell 2-1 and Matt Vail 2-1

Special award presented on May 10th: Marty Franek was presented the Dargis Lifetime Achievement Award for over 25 years of service as various officers in the CICL, congratulations and well-deserved! He was presented a Chronos chess clock.

CICL Individual Tournament

• Format: 3 round Swiss tournament, with multiple sections as needed

• Time Control: G/60

• Time & Date: Arrive by 8:45am sharp on Saturday May 10. Rounds expected to be at 9:00am, 11:00am and 2:00pm.

• Location: Computer Associates. See below for directions and interactive web map.

• Entry Fee: none

• Prizes: $30 for 1^st place and $20 for 2^nd place of each section. (But only for 1st place if the section has less than 7 players). All prizes are only in USCF gift certificates or trophy (your choice). Only members of the CICL are eligible for prizes.

• Registration: Please do pre-register by sending email to Jerry Thomas at jerry_thomas745@sbcglobal.net

• Eligibility: This tourney is open to all CICL members, and also open to all potential, future CICL members. You must be 16 years of age or older to play in this tournament. USCF membership is not required.

• Ratings: Games are rated by the CICL for CICL members. Games add to CICL members' Centurion game count. Game are not rated by the USCF.

• Chess equipment: Please bring a chess set and chess clock.

• From NORTHWEST SUBURBS: 53 South (becomes 355 South) exit I88 West. Exit 53 South to first traffic light, which is Warrenville Road; turn right (West). Travel about 2 miles to Cabot Drive (2nd stoplight). Turn right onto Cabot Drive (Corporate Lakes). Continue to 2400 Cabot Drive, which is a large red and black building.

• From SOUTHWEST SUBURBS: I88 East to Naperville Road exit. Exit Naperville Road left (North) to first traffic light, which is Warrenville Road. Turn right on Warrenville Road (East) to Cabot Drive (2nd stoplight). Turn left onto Cabot Drive (Corporate Lakes). Continue to 2400 Cabot Drive, which is a large red and black building.

• From NORTH : I294 South to I88 West, then follow the directions above.

• From SOUTH: I294 North to I88 West, then follow the directions above.

• From CHICAGO: I290 West (Eisenhower Expressway) to I88 West, then follow the directions above.
